Recently, Shauna of Gluten Free Girl invited readers to share in a sneak-peak of recipes from her new cookbook: Gluten-Free Girl and the Chef: A Love Story with 100 Tempting Recipes
Of course, I jumped at the chance, and without anything further, here are the results:
First, seared shrimp tofu with garlic almond sauce…So, I’ve made this twice in one week, it is basically the richest, most flavorful sauce you can imagine, filled with the healthiest fats from olive oil and marcona almonds.

Next, imagine, gluten-free pasta in under thirty minutes…homemade…I figured it would take over an hour to put together the dough and cut it into fettucinne; I was shocked as I placed the pasta in a pot of bubbling water that the entire process had taken under thirty minutes. Shocked!
The pasta was destined for the fresh pasta with anchovies, lemons, and olives. A rich dish, again, made dairy-free, but every bit as flavorful and complex as you might imagine.

Lastly, a perpetually lovable combination, peanut butter and chocolate, together in brownies, chocolate peanut butter brownies, you might say, made with oat flour, and dairy-free, too.
I had a lot of fun trying these recipes, and am undoubtedly eager to try every recipe in the book!
Again, the book: Gluten-Free Girl and the Chef: A Love Story with 100 Tempting Recipes

Jenn, these look fantastic! And I LOVE that you made the garlic almond sauce with tofu instead of shrimp. I’m trying that next. thank you.

Gosh, that all looks good enough to eat! Do the noodles and brownies contain eggs? To be honest I was going to pass up on this book thinking that it probably would entail too many substitutes to make it vegan, soy, corn and legume free. There’s a big “never judge a book by it’s cover.” Jenn, everything looks beautiful, as always. You are quite an artist.

What a lovely post and beautiful photos too! I did some pre-publishing recipe for them which was very fun. Yesterday I tried the pear tart and the fig chutney and I am looking forward to trying the other recipes. Thanks for the suggestion to try tofu instead of shrimp with the almond sauce. I have a new vegetarian in the family that will love it!

Yum! These look so darn good (your pics always do!). I can’t wait to try the tofu in that yummy sauce. And the pasta is definitely on my list. Homemade pasta in less than 30 minutes? Are you kidding me. I am so in! Oh, and don’t even get me started on those brownies. Holy moly. I can already taste them!

What a great post! I am so impressed that you were able to make these vegetarian. Although I am not, it is good to know for others I know that are.
And, I am also impressed that you could make the pasta in under a half an hour. It took me longer, but I have never made pasta before. I was reading the instruction book as I went along. Now, I have something to shoot for.
